A simple object can cause humans to rob, kill, or attack other humans. In my opinion government is necessary because humans cannot fairly share limited resources without rules. When a group of humans get something and there is not enough of that thing humans began to get jealous and try to get what they want and attack or kill other people. A lot of humans can be greedy or competitive at times and also a lot of humans are most likely to think about themselves and not really care about other people. They think that everybody is there enemy but at the same time some people are not enemies they are their helpers. We should all work together and maybe the outcome of the world would be a little different. No government can cause chaos and violence, robbing and killing, and humans can also be nasty and brutish.
“The Gods Must Be Crazy”. A bottle drops out of the sky in a dessert where an African tribe called Kalahari bushman lives. The humans think that it is a gift from the Gods. What is this? They began to use this strange object for many things such as music and other things that would help them to adapt to the environment easier. Then things began to go wrong. A simple coke bottle causes a tribe to become confused, jealous and cruel. Humans become greedy and do not share this limited resource. Chaos and violence begins.
Comparing the coke bottle in their life to our everyday life would almost be the same. For example diamonds are a limited recourse because it is not free and everybody does not have the money to get a diamond. So people in this world began to rob people, kill, or beat people up because they do no have it and they want it. This is called greed. This is the same thing that happened with the coke bottle, humans would hit people upside the head with the bottle because they wanted it. That is one reason why government is necessary because people need to protect their rights against each other.
In Thomas Hobbes book ‘Leviathan’ he talks about the fact that human life before society was formed was SOLITARY, POOR, NASTY, AND BRUTISH. In a way I agree with Hobbes. Without government I think this world would be confused and more murders would be at hand. Humans can get nasty and brutish at times and if there was no government the world would be in more chaos. In 2006 the there was 404 homicides in Philadelphia. Most of these homicides were happening in North Philadelphia. Right now I’m sure that the government is trying hard to stop this problem, but if there was no government there would probably more homicides.
In my conclusion I would like to say that if there were no government this world would probably be in a huge chaos. Since there are limited recourses humans would be nasty and brutish because of greed and they would want everything they don’t have. Hobbes was right and he supported his reasoning very well. We do need government. Government is necessary.
