As I explained in my P.O.G 1 essay, I thought that society should have limits to their freedoms and security. In the iDeal society experiment that our class had, was basically trying to see whether the class could have a society where some people can agree on the iChip or disagree. Also how would the president deal with the iDeal society? Me being a citizen wanted to get the point across that if you did not take the iChip you should not be detained and that the iChip could have a lot of defaults, which could make things, go wrong in your body. For my major goal I wanted freedom and security with limits. To touch up on that basis I would like to talk about things that happened in the iDeal society such as the court case, Miller vs. Young, the law that was passed, and the impeachment of the president.
To star off I would like to talk about the court case, Miller vs. Young. In the Constitution it clearly states, “ Congress shall make no law respecting an establishment or religion, or prohibiting the free exercise thereof or abridging the freedom of speech, or of press, or the right of the people peaceably to assemble, and to petition the government for a redress of grievance. Shay simply spoke what she thought in her mind. She said, “ If you don’t shut up I will blow your house up.” To the president. Yet she had no plan, it was just words with no actions. The president also arrested her. After spending time in jail Shay’s lawyer Elizabeth decided that they should sue President Young for arresting her and to get their point across that if you have a freedom of speech you can say anything. The day was very tiring at court, yet the verdict ruled in Shay’s favor and she was not guilty because she had no backup plan. It was just words with no actions. Then the court said that if you say or threat someone with no proof of evidence than it will not be held against you.
The next thing I would like to talk about is the law that was passed stating that if you were under eighteen you could not receive the iChip. This law was past after the iChip was produced. That means that people with the iChip that were under eighteen were illegal. That is wrong, being illegal because they had something that the government let them have then say that they can’t have it. That violates you fourth amendment right. I think that that is unconstitutional.
The last thing I would like to talk about is the impeachment of the president. In Article 2 Section 4 of the constitution its says, “The President, Vice President and all civil officers of the United States shall be removed from office on Impeachment for, and convection of Treason, Bribery, or other high crimes and misdemeanor. The president was going around attacking people and talking about people’s parents. Therefore the citizens and the government wanted to impeach him. Yet since the people really didn’t find much fought in him he could not be impeached. Also the court case got in the way of impeachment. In my opinion I think that he should have been impeached because he was unprofessional.
In my conclusion I would like to say that the society should have freedom on security wit limitations. The iDeal society experiment was a great experiment and I think that it proved a lot about freedom and security. Also I hope to do a continuation on this essay. Thank You
