A Day With My Mentor at DHS
Today I was late for school because I was at my internship at DHS. That is the reason why I did not go to service learning. So I am writing about what happened at DHS today. Well, I got there to meet my mentor at 8:30 and then we walked over to the courthouse. When we got to the court how we checked in and then we went upstairs and waited in the lobby for the case to be called. When the judge called us in I sat in the back and observed. Basically the case was about a girl who was fully mentally retarded and they wanted to keep he in DHS till she was 18. So literally we were in the courtroom for 2 minutes because the judge granted the DHS's wish. Then we left and I went to the library with her. Then we went back to her job and I left shortly after. I had a lot of fun.
